THE ROLE

 

The Supplier Manager (m/f/d) defines and develops comprehensive supply strategies across various categories, oversees the onboarding of new partners, and performs benchmarking and should-cost analyses to ensure cost-effective procurement. In this key supply chain role, close collaboration with internal stakeholders and global suppliers drives continuous performance optimization, risk mitigation, and sustainable growth.

  • Supplier Strategy & Performance Management: Definition of mid- and long-term supplier strategies across categories is aligned with company goals, while performance, reliability, and quality are evaluated through robust KPI frameworks and regular audits.
  • Onboarding & Supplier Qualification: Identification and evaluation of potential suppliers ensure seamless integration into the supply chain while meeting strict quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Benchmarking & Cost Analysis: Conducting benchmarking studies against industry standards and performing detailed should-cost analyses support data-driven cost modeling and price negotiations.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Proactive identification of supply chain risks enables the creation of contingency plans and guarantees full compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Leading commercial negotiations secures favorable terms and conditions while building strong, long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with internal teams ensures smooth communication, aligned procurement goals, and continuous supply chain improvements.

  • Educational Background: A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field forms the foundation of your expertise.
  • Professional Experience: Several years of experience in strategic procurement, supplier management, or supply chain roles—ideally within an international, fast-paced environment—characterize your career path.
  • Strategic & Commercial Expertise: Proven success in developing supplier strategies, performing cost modeling, and leading complex commercial negotiations sets you apart.
  • Intercultural & Asian Market Competence: Strong intercultural skills and experience collaborating across cultural boundaries—particularly with suppliers in Asia—ensure seamless international partnerships.
  • Analytical & Technical Skills: An analytical, data-driven mindset paired with proficiency in cost-modeling tools shapes your approach; specialized knowledge in carbon or composite materials is a strong advantage.
  • Communication & Mindset: Excellent communication skills, a hands-on attitude, and fluency in English (Mandarin is a plus) round off your profile.
