THE ROLE
We are looking for a Marketplace Manager to oversee our operations on major e-commerce platforms in China, specifically Tmall and potentially JD. You will start by managing an external agency responsible for marketplace operations before transitioning into being part of an in-house team as we develop our internal capabilities.

- Agency Oversight: Manage relationships with our external agency that handles the marketplace operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and performance targets.
- In-housing Strategy: Spearhead the transition of marketplace management from agency-led to an internal team structure, including recruitment and training initiatives.
- Project Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement digital merchandising strategies that enhance product visibility and drive sales on Tmall and JD.
- Data-driven Decision-Making: Utilize analytics tools to track marketplace performance, making informed decisions based on data insights to optimize product listings and pricing strategies.
- External Partner Coordination: Liaise with external partners for logistics, marketing campaigns, and promotional activities to enhance brand presence on these platforms.
- Market Trends Analysis: Stay updated on e-commerce trends within China to identify new opportunities for growth and competitive advantage.
HOW TO BECOME PART OF THE RACE
- Strong background in project management with experience in e-commerce or digital merchandising roles.
- Familiarity with Tmall and JD platforms is essential; knowledge of their operational frameworks will be advantageous.
- Proven ability to make data-driven decisions that impact product performance positively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills in Mandarin are preferred.
