THE ROLE

The Commercial Planning Manager is the final owner of the Canyon Commercial Commitment for the assigned category and serves as the end to end planning owner, being ultimately responsible for Demand Planning (long term) and Sales Planning (short term). This role serves as the bridge between Category strategy, unconstrained demand planning (o9), Budget and short-term monthly financial execution (Jedox).

The position is responsible for balancing commercial growth ambitions with financial risk and utilizing data-backed insights to optimize inventory health. Operating in a dynamic matrix structure, the role drives collaborative alignment across Sales, Category Management and Supply Planning to turn ambitions into operational planning execution.

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

  • Final Forecast Ownership: Own the Committed Reforecast for the assigned category scope, balancing short-term market trading inputs with long-term strategic ambitions.
  • Unconstrained Demand Generation: Synthesize diverse market inputs, regional trends, and digital insights from Canyon.com to develop a robust 0–24 month unconstrained demand signal in o9 Solutions.
  • Consensus Leadership: Lead the monthly cross-functional Demand Consensus Forums in o9, translating market intelligence and unconstrained demand signals into a unified commercial plan
  • System Gatekeeper: Manage and secure the final volume and financial commitment lock inside the planning systems (Jedox) on a monthly basis, ensuring it serves as the definitive operational source of truth for downstream execution across Digital and Sales Teams.
  • Curve & Ratio Refinement: Continuously optimize product size/color ratios and curves based on real-time sell-through performance and changing global demand patterns.
  • E2E Planning Bridge: Ensure a seamless connection across all planning horizons, documenting performance deltas, trade-offs, and risk factors to provide clear visibility for executive leadership
  • Continuous KPI Improvement: Drive ongoing enhancement of forecast accuracy, minimize forecast bias, and ensure strict demand-to-budget alignment.
  • Stock Health Management: Take active ownership of category inventory risk, dynamically optimizing stock turns and preventing overstock or shortages in partnership with Supply Planning.
  • Support S&OP process, in close alignment with Supply Planning, Category and Finance.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for planning process improvement. Drive and lead a culture of continuous improvement, able to spot automation opportunities and building to scale.

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE
