THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Manager Brand Activations & Community to join the Canyon team. In this role, you’ll take the lead in planning and executing global events and marketing initiatives that bring the Canyon brand to life, fostering a highly engaged global cycling community externally while actively shaping and nurturing our internal employee culture. We are seeking a candidate with strong event and project management experience, combined with a deep understanding of community building and a passion for the cycling industry.

Your focus will be on developing and implementing a strategic approach to physical events and brand activations that drive global brand awareness, loyalty, and growth. You’ll work closely with internal teams, local markets, and external partners to create impactful, high-quality experiences that connect directly with riders, strengthen Canyon's position as a community-driven leader, and celebrate our internal "Canyon Crew" spirit through engaging employee and culture events.

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

  • Event & Community Management: Lead the planning and execution of global key events and community gatherings, from concept development to on-site implementation. Coordinate all aspects, including vendor, partner, sponsor, and ambassador management, to ensure impactful, authentic, and memorable experiences for the Canyon community. Partner with digital product and content teams to ensure physical events seamlessly integrate with Canyon’s digital ecosystem (e.g., Canyon App, Strava, social and experience partner communities)
  • Internal Culture & Employee Events: Plan, organize, and execute internal cultural and employee events (e.g., internal race formats, team rides, company celebrations, and community-building initiatives) that strengthen the "Canyon Crew" spirit, align with our brand values, and foster collaboration across departments.
  • Community Activation Strategy: Develop, plan, and implement global activation concepts that strengthen the Road, MTB & Urban categories. Create innovative formats (e.g., community rides, grassroots initiatives, crew meet-ups) that foster deep brand loyalty and deliver measurable impact.
  • Project Management: Oversee marketing and internal event initiatives independently, including performance tracking, community/employee feedback analysis, reporting, and optimization to align with business and cultural objectives.
  • Global & Local Synergy: Lead and manage events across key regions (North America, EMEA, APAC). Work closely with HR, local market managers, and regional cycling crews to ensure seamless execution, consistent brand representation, and locally relevant community engagement.
  • Process Optimization: Establish and refine structures and processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and sustainable success across all event, community, and internal activation activities.
  • Calendar Management: Oversee the integrated activation, community, and internal events calendar, ensuring alignment with global marketing objectives and internal communication strategies.

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

  • Experience: You have a degree in event management, marketing, communications, or a related field, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in event management, brand activations, or community building (experience in organizing internal corporate/culture events is a strong plus).
  • End-to-End Ownership: You can lead the entire activation process from concept to execution, setting clear objectives, developing strategies, and allocating resources to ensure success for both external and internal target audiences.
  • Strategic & Proactive Thinking: You make proactive, strategic decisions that align with overall business goals. You have a proven track record in long-term planning and adjusting processes/resources to meet objectives.
  • Community & Culture Mindset: You understand how to turn customers into fans, and how to keep employees engaged and inspired. You have experience collaborating with cross-functional internal teams (like HR or Communications) as well as external influencers, brand ambassadors, or cycling clubs.
  • Soft Skills & Resilience: You’re highly organized, adaptable, and thrive in dynamic environments. Your communication and presentation skills are exceptional, and you maintain composure and assertiveness even in high-pressure event situations.
  • Cultural Fit: You have a deep passion for and understanding of various riding scenes, their distinct subcultures, and what drives the global cycling community. You embody the Canyon spirit and love bringing people together. Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
