THE ROLE
As our Manager Indirect Procurement you will be managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of goods and services that are not directly involved in the production process but still essential for supporting the organization's operations. This includes categories such as IT services, facilities management, marketing, travel, professional services, etc.
YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors for indirect categories, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, cost-effectiveness, quality, and service level agreements.
- Supplier Management: Establish strong relationships with suppliers/vendors to improve performance and leverage opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies. Development of a global competitive supplier panel.
- Negotiation: Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers/vendors to ensure sustainable and long-term cooperation, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements, while mitigating risks.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies.
- Cost Management: Monitor and analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads, finance, legal, and other relevant teams, to understand their requirements, provide procurement expertise, and ensure sourcing needs are met.
- Market Research: Continuously analyze global procurement market trends and industry development to stay up-to-date on the latest sourcing strategies, best practices and emerging technologies in the relevant categories.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks within the supply chain, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply and minimize disruptions.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve processes, game theory approaches, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in indirect procurement, commodity sourcing, strategic procurement and supplier management, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and driving value.
- Strong knowledge in procurement, contract management, compliance topics and ethical practices in procurement.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Very good German and English skills
