THE ROLE
Canyon is hiring for a Market Manager Germany & Austria to drive the Canyon business and achieve the number one market share position in strategic areas of focus – Road, Gravel, MTB and U&R. You will leverage the operational scale to find efficiencies which continually drive local costs down as percentage of revenue, while delivering a premium customer experience to every Canyon customer.
This role will be reporting to the General Manager EMEA and be based in Germany with regular business travels to Austria.
YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW
- Lead the company’s strategic business and brand direction in line with Canyon’s established position and execute a business growth and development plan within the region
- Provide oversight and leadership in the local execution of business initiatives, from planning to completion in the areas of Marketing & Brand and Sales
- Manage program, projects, budgets, resources and relationships to ensure organizational objectives and overall company business case are achieved
- Full Profit and Loss responsibility for the region including the development of annual business plans for the Canyon subsidiary that includes expense budget forecast and execution on plan, staff planning, sales forecasting, Marketing/ Events plan and budget
- Establish and build up ongoing relationships with associated service partners: ASP’s who provide mechanical and warranty support for our consumers
- For early trend identification, ongoing feedback to Regional and Global Sales and Product teams on market intelligence including competitor information, market development and growth opportunities
- Work with Global Retail Team to identify new and manage ongoing local Canyon Experience partners to achieve growth and P&L metrics
- Assure any and all statutory requirements are met as communicated by Global Legal or Finance Teams
- Full oversight of Canyon Home Workshop. Including achieving Global Customer Service metrics as set by Customer Experience Team and delivering all results to budgetary planning
- Work with Global People team, recruit, provide leadership and guidance to current and future Canyon staff; develop job descriptions and contracts which meet local requirements
- Assure one Canyon Culture is communicated and embodied within local entity to assure alignment on global brand initiatives and strong employee identification
HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE
- Degree in business management or related field of studies
- 6+ years’ work experience with proven experience in a leadership position, ideally within the sports, outdoor or consumer goods industry
- Strong knowledge of the German and Austrian bike market
- Proven track record managing and developing teams
- Experience in strategy development and execution
- Strong business acumen to set relevant targets for the local market
- Strong strategic and organizational skills to translate business needs into meaningful actions
- Ability to respond to changing priorities in an evolving business environment and manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Experienced in KPI-driven management, highly analytical and comfortable around numbers
- Excellent communication and networking skills to build strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent in German and English
