THE ROLE

As Product Controller (m/f/d) you will be responsible for the creation and further development of (existing) product reports for management, business teams, shareholders and other stakeholders. A focus will be to ensure profitability alongside the entire product life cycle. This role will have a real impact on our company's efficiency and cost management and help us shape the future of our products and processes.

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

  • Optimize Processes: Analyze and streamline our R&D and CM processes to drive efficiency, transparency, and digital transformation.
  • Product Costing: Manage cost calculations for products and components throughout their lifecycle to maintain accurate and proactive cost and margin control.
  • Collaborate and Learn: Work closely with our R&D and CM teams to understand and improve their processes.
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective cost-reduction strategies across production and purchasing.
  • Project Tracking: Track and report project costs incl. ROI for R&D and CM initiatives to keep financial objectives on target.
  • Strategic Planning: Support long-term product planning and bring your insights into our annual budget.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee and report on costs of goods sold for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with other controllers to support our business units in making data-driven decisions.
  • System Development: Help refine and develop our internal tools and systems.

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

  • Degree in economics with a focus on controlling or commercial training with further training in finance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product controlling or a related field 
  • Ideally, you have already worked for an international company in the consumer goods sector
  • Good knowledge of SAP (CO and FI modules)
  • Enjoy analyzing data and working with complex figures and facts
  • Conscientious and independent way of working, as well as a high level of teamwork and flexibility
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convince through presentation and assertiveness paired with a high level of process understanding
  • Very good English skills
