THE ROLE
The new SAP Variant Configuration Manager will play a key role in modernizing Canyon's product development processes, increasing efficiency, and improving overall SAP system utilization. This position will directly contribute to Canyon's ability to scale operations, manage complex product configurations, and maintain leadership in the global bicycle market.
YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW
Concept Development and Project Management:
As the SAP Variant Configuration Specialist, you will develop and implement concepts for SAP variant configuration across various project environments. You will take charge of leading rollouts and implementation projects, which includes planning, executing, and conducting follow-ups to ensure success and alignment with business goals.
Support and Training:
Process Optimization: Your responsibility will also include analyzing, optimizing, and redesigning variant configuration processes to enhance efficiency. You will implement best practices and integrate new technologies to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Technical Leadership and Consulting:
You will lead R&D and operations teams in the development and maintenance of bill of materials. Moreover, you will provide expert advice and support to departments facing technical issues and challenges, thereby ensuring solutions are pragmatic and aligned with business objectives.
Data Management and System Customization:
Managing and maintaining master data will be a crucial part of your role. You will also be responsible for customizing SAP systems according to the evolving business requirements, ensuring the configurations meet the specific needs of the organization.
Error Analysis and Helpdesk Management:
You will oversee the SAP Helpdesk, managing error analysis in the operational business to diagnose and resolve issues promptly, thereby minimizing downtime and improving system reliability.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate product vision, strategy, and performance to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Several years of experience in SAP variant configuration.
- Strong skills in SAP modules, particularly LoVc.
- Experience in project work and technical change management.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability.
- Good communication skills in both German and English.
