As our Senior Technical Architect Commerce Cloud, you will be an important factor in our success and growth. You will focus on designing our best-in-class solutions and be a key interface between the business and the development team. YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW
- API-First Transformation: You lead the transition of our eCommerce landscape towards a decoupled, API-driven architecture to ensure maximum scalability and flexibility.
- Requirement Analysis: Continuously carry out the analysis of our business requirements and responsibility for the translation into intelligent, stable, and scalable technical solutions.
- Technical Conceptualization: Breaking down the user stories and use cases into technical concepts and implementation tasks.
- Architecture Documentation: Creating technical design concepts and documents (data model, system integration concept, data migration planning, etc.).
- Prototyping & Innovation: Ensure the implementation of prototypes and prepare "make or buy" decisions for new features.
- Quality & Governance: Ensure the quality of the services provided by the development team in technical and architectural terms according to Canyon guidelines and common best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Optimize architecture guidelines, development processes, and tools.
- Technical Leadership: Take over and be responsible for the technical management of the dev team.
- Global Engineering Governance: Define and enforce high-quality coding standards, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines for a distributed development setup to ensure architectural consistency.
- Technical Onboarding & Mentoring: Establish technical onboarding processes and provide continuous guidance for international engineering squads to align their output with Canyon’s quality benchmarks.
- Architectural Gatekeeping: Act as the final authority for technical reviews and pull requests (PRs), ensuring that features developed by external or remote teams meet long-term scalability goals.
- Bridge Function: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the German product/business stakeholders and the execution-focused development teams in various time zones.
HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE
- A degree in (technical) computer science, software engineering, or a comparable field of study forms your professional foundation.
- 10+ years of professional experience as a technical architect or consultant in the (B2C) eCommerce environment.
- A proven track record (5+ years) in developing and scaling Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud solutions.
- Extensive technical expertise in eCommerce ecosystems, Salesforce integrations, DevOps, and modern API standards (REST/GraphQL).
- Deep familiarity with agile methodologies and leading development teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Salesforce certifications are considered a strong plus and underline your expertise.
- The ability to lead, interact with, and align various interest groups and stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and a hands-on, result-oriented mindset to successfully drive daily tasks and long-term goals.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Distributed Team Leadership: Proven experience in managing or technically leading offshore or nearshore development teams is a significant advantage.
- Collaborative Excellence: Proficiency in using modern collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Teams) to manage complex development cycles across different geographical locations.
- Cultural Awareness: Strong intercultural communication skills and the ability to act as a "buffer" and translator between business requirements and technical implementation in a global delivery model.
- Architectural Vision: Experience with Salesforce PWA Kit, OCAPI, and SCAPI to support our shift towards a modern, headless eCommerce environment.
